Safeguard Your Home with  Trinity Restoration & Roofing

  • Protect Your Roof from Severe Weather in Jacksonville, FL

Florida is no stranger to severe weather. From powerful hurricanes and torrential rain to damaging winds and hailstorms, Mother Nature often tests the strength of our homes—especially the roof. As a homeowner in Northeast Florida, being proactive about roofing maintenance is critical to protecting your property, your family, and your peace of mind.

At Trinity Restoration & Roofing, we specialize in helping homeowners prepare for, endure, and recover from extreme weather. Whether you’re dealing with minor leaks or major storm damage, our team is here to provide expert roofing repair in Jacksonville and surrounding areas.

Why Severe Weather Threatens Your Roof

Your roof is your home’s first line of defense against the elements—and Florida’s elements don’t hold back. Here’s how severe weather can wreak havoc on your roof:

  • High Winds: Gusts exceeding 50+ mph can lift shingles, dislodge flashing, and rip off entire sections of roofing—especially on older or improperly installed roofs.
  • Hail Damage: Even small hailstones can cause cracks, bruises, or dents in shingles, which weakens their ability to keep water out.
  • Heavy Rain & Flooding: Prolonged exposure to water can seep into weak spots or under damaged shingles, leading to mold, wood rot, and interior water damage.
  • Flying Debris: Wind-blown branches, signs, or patio furniture can puncture your roof or clog drainage systems, leading to pooling water and eventual leaks.

Understanding these potential threats is the first step to being proactive—and protecting your investment.

Roof Maintenance Before the Storm

If you want your roof to stand strong through Florida’s storm season, it needs to be in top condition. Here are a few practical steps homeowners can take now to reduce the risk of costly storm damage:

1. Conduct a Roof Inspection

Start by checking for visible signs of damage, like:

  • Missing, curling, or cracked shingles
  • Loose or rusted flashing
  • Sagging or soft spots
  • Clogged or overflowing gutters
  • Moss, algae, or debris buildup

2. Schedule Preventative Repairs

Small issues can quickly become big problems in a storm. Schedule repairs before hurricane season arrives. Our team specializes in roofing restoration in Jax, offering fast, high-quality solutions that will extend your roof’s lifespan and improve your home’s safety.

3. Clean Your Gutters

Proper drainage is crucial during heavy rainfall. Clogged gutters can overflow and push water under your shingles, causing internal damage. Make sure gutters and downspouts are clear and securely attached.

4. Trim Overhanging Branches

Tree limbs can be deadly during storms. Trim back any limbs hanging over your roof, as they may break off in high winds and cause significant damage.

5. Secure Outdoor Items

Patio furniture, grills, trash bins, and garden décor should be anchored or stored indoors before a storm. These items can turn into dangerous projectiles in high winds.

After the Storm: What to Do If You Suspect Damage

Even with preparation, storms can leave their mark. After the skies clear, here’s what to do:

  • Look for visible damage like missing shingles, broken gutters, or water spots on your ceiling.
  • Check your attic for leaks or damp insulation.
  • Call a professional for a full inspection. Some damage can’t be seen from the ground or may worsen over time.

Trinity Restoration & Roofing offers free storm damage inspections for homeowners in Northeast Florida. We’ll assess the condition of your roof, help you navigate insurance claims if necessary, and provide the right repairs to keep your home protected.

For insurance funded projects, the first payment made is the homeowner's deductible. The deductible is paid once the homeowner has received their insurance scope of work and confirmation of an approved claim. We collect the first insurance payment the day work begins, this payment is usually 50% of the job cost. The final insurance payment usually comes 30-90 days after the work is completed.
